Wishing you each a 2024 filled with hope and happiness, good health, and heartfelt dreams come true. While it’s true that the world’s many current ills are bigger than any one of us can heal alone, I wish you the fortitude, passion and guts to do whatever you can to impact positive change wherever needed, including in your own communities. Be kind, too. One person can indeed make a difference. That much I know. And make sure you VOTE. Unless you aren’t eligible, there’s no excuse to silence your own voice. Silence and inaction solve nothing and further fuel harmful fires. Be that person that speaks up clearly for positive change whenever and wherever needed, especially now.

Personally, and professionally, I’m thankful to have experienced a wonderful year of travel while realizing some long-time dreams. I’ve worked hard for decades, and I’ve never ever given up. This year’s success includes the completion of the powerful and beautiful documentary film, CAMP RICSTAR, of which I am an executive producer. The film highlights the 20th anniversary of the Eric ‘RicStar’ Winter Music Therapy Camp held each June at the MSU Community Music School. Camp has proudly provided music therapy for individuals of all ages with a wide range of disabilities since my son’s death in 2003. This groundbreaking film will finally be seen by the world in 2024 and I can’t wait! No overnight success here. Just three decades of hard work with a focus on turning devastating grief into love and action, while trying to always grow greater respect and opportunities for those with disabilities and their dedicated families. Efforts birthed by my late son, Eric. He is the camp and movie’s namesake. Looking forward to an exciting year, to greater world peace, and to seeing many of you at a film showing at a theater near you. Bring Kleenex. Lots of Kleenex, and open hearts. The film will change you. If you let it in, and then share its lessons.
