Last year I began a new tradition of adding a few faux flowers to a some of my garden containers, including my window boxes.

That’s the focus of this week’s Garden Moments.

I mix large, faux hydrangeas in with the vibrant-green Arborvitae that I began using a few year ago. The result is truly lovely.

I love Arborvitae for its beauty, it’s easy care, and the year-round foliage. Add a sprinkling of snow, or a big winter snowfall, and it always looks magical.

But unadorned in the summertime, the shrub can be a bit boring. Adding a few colorful faux flowers gives my window boxes just the right amount of seasonal pizazz.

Today was the day to take on that task, and I’m happy with the end result.

Here are a few more photos of that Garden Moment’s process in action.

Do you use any faux flowers in your outdoor summertime gardening projects?
