Monday’s Sassy Fashionista Vibe is casual and comfortable. It’s a mix of old and new, and mostly black. I don’t usually choose all black clothing in the summertime because it just feels too hot for sultry weather.

In fact, I switched out of this skirt once I had captured these shots. I went outdoors, where the high humidity caused me to quickly change my fashion mind, and my outfit.

My legs, and the rest of me, needed to breathe!

I put on light, breathable shorts instead.

Until then, I was really feeling this Monday fashion vibe while shooting indoors with the a/c working overtime. That didn’t last long.

This long, black skirt has two generous pockets (love those!!) and snaps instead of buttons running down the front. It is from shopping my closet and I purchased it from FreePeople.com earlier this year.

I paired it with a new cropped, black top from Athleta.com and these non-leather Birkenstocks that I can get wet while watering the garden, which is what I was doing before I took this photo. (Excuse the slightly dirty toes!).

Got this pair from FreePeople.com just last week. The lovely Yellow-Jade necklace was a lovely find at Free People found in store for only $48. It’s quality.

Love the olive green color, especially since I’ve started turning my focus toward fall-fashion purchases, and that includes items in various shades of green. At just under $50, I think these sandals are a great practical purchase for casual summer footwear.

They might even make it into the warmer, stylish days of early fall.

The result is a simple summer outfit that’s stylish, comfortable and tolerable in the stifling summer heat/humidity. Something that definitely drives my Sassy Fashionista fashion choices right now.

How about you? Do you wear less black when the weather turns super sultry?
