I’m waiting for the furnace-repair man to come and get my heat back on, something I take for granted as I turn up the thermostat each day.
As my body (especially my toes) begins to get uncomfortably chilled on this very cold day, I can’t help but think about what it’s like for the homeless, or those who can’t afford to pay for heat and struggle with this harsh reality every day. Then, there are so many others currently threatened in tough economic times with losing their unemployment benefits and being unable to pay their way.
It’s a humbling experience, and a good reminder about the importance of giving back when you can. I feel blessed to be able to do just that.
How about you?
