While the temps are still edging upwards, it is still too cold to plant much in the garden right now. So my Garden Moments of the week have included getting my four annual large hanging porch ferns at Lowe’s, which are temp tolerant and will spend most nights inside still, and a pot of colorful pansies, a true sign the season is finally beginning, regardless of lingering, frosty temps.

I also joyfully finally reentered my creative studio that we had built last summer. Most of the summer was too hot to enjoy it and the winter, as we all know, came far too early in the midwest. So I am thrilled to finally start thinking about getting in there and creating all kinds of lovely things.
Today, my first order of business was to get rid of all the flies that had somehow sneaked in and were buzzing about happily. Not for long. Then, I reshot a few of the fab faux flowers that I placed in there last year, a reminder of the lovely place I have already created and one I can’t wait to explore further. The fab faux posies were all patiently waiting for me, none the worse for the brutal winter weather. Still not sure how the flies survived…. Not even sure how I did.

So here are a few of my favorite things already in place that I will be adding to soon now that the weather is beginning to be much more seasonal and I am much more hopeful. I can’t remember a past winter in recent years, where I was so eager to get back to the outdoor gardens and my sweet planting spaces, studio included.

How about you? What’s most exciting you about the upcoming season right now?
See you in the garden, and the studio!!
Happy Spring to all!
