Our groundbreaking documentary film, #CampRicStar took home the Emmy for Documentary-Topical at the 2026 Michigan Emmy Awards Gala in Detroit last Saturday.
The award came near the end of the three-hour-plus event and the win was worth the wait. It honors myself and my husband, Richard as Executive Producers, Director, Sam McConnell, and Editor, Lukas Hauser.
We are beyond thrilled and want to thank everyone that had anything to do with us creating this incredible film about a music therapy camp at MSU for people of all ages with disabilities. Camp just completed its 24th year!!
RicStar’s Camp is named in honor of our son, Eric Richard Winter, who had a gift for music and passed away from complications of cerebral palsy in 2003 at age 12. Camp and the film honor Eric’s remarkable life and legacy. We couldn’t be prouder.
